Some clarification.
The “VW” option would effectively be the “inlay”. The color that goes BETWEEN the VW ring lines.
The “overlay” is what would make the VW ring color.
So if you want a black VW ring, with a White inlay, you would order a Black Overlay and a White VW.
These are NOT new emblems. They are vinyl decals that cover your existing emblems.
